I hope everyone is enjoying their Summer! I have to say that these hot, hazy days have a bit of a “can-I-be-lazy-now?” effect on me. I’m dreaming of lounging at the edge of the ocean with my toes buried in the sand as the waves wash over me… But that will have to wait a little bit longer. June has been another whirlwind of a month with so many events! There was the Lab Walk in Annapolis that raised over $60,000 to benefit Lab Rescue of the LRCP, new work with All Min Pin Rescue, barbecues to celebrate the homecoming of animals of the Afghan Rescue League, and an amazing Black Tie fundraiser for the Middleburg Humane Foundation – not to mention the opportunities to meet all of you, my clients and friends.
The next week will be a little quiet here at Fuzzypants as I head off to spend some time with family. At first I thought the 4th of July holiday would be a great time to head out to the beach for a few toes-in-the-sand days but I found that the serenity of a mountain retreat sounded too good to pass up. Has anyone been to the Natural Bridge? I have wanted to go for some time, so I’m pretty excited to be heading there. A couple of days of being outdoors, hiking, and tubing sounds so perfect!
I hope all of you have fun things planned for the 4th of July! Just a reminder that July 5th is a busy day for animal shelters around the country because of frightened pets fleeing from the noise and commotion of fireworks. In addition, many of the foods and items used during barbecues can be toxic to your pet. Please take a moment to review these tips on keeping your pet safe: ASPCA 4th of July Safety Tips
Be safe. Enjoy your friends and families. Hug your pets.
